3 Easy Steps to Prepare For Your Montage
Get Organized & Prepare your Photo & Video Montage
- CHOOSE – Browse through all of your photographs and choose which to use. Try this technique – Make 3 piles of pictures; Yes, No & Maybe. Then review the maybes until you have your absolute favorites in the Yes pile. Be careful not to spend time looking at each one & walking down memory lane while selecting your photos. Allow 1 minute per photo and focus on the exact pictures that will tell your story best.
- GROUP – Review all your photographs in the Yes pile. Group them in chronological order with the earliest photos to the most recent ones. Place the pictures in small groups by photos that pair together; like vacations, holidays, house photos, career, children, pets or grandchildren. Select titles and music to go with each group; Like “Our Babies” for grandchildren photo group.
- IDENTIFY – Place a number on the back of each photograph with 1 being your first photo in the montage. Use a pencil, stickers or post it notes. Pens do not work as well as they are easily smudged. Choose titles – like, “Happy Birthday to my sweet sister” for #1 and a Closing on the last photo like, “Hope your day is Super Special”. Include music, poems, endearing sayings or cute comments.
